Describe your short-term and long-term career goals and explain how your
past experience together with an MBA from the University of Washington will
contribute to your achieving them. (750 word maximum)
2. Answer
any two questions from the four choices below:
A.
Describe a time when you were part of a team in a professional environment
that worked well. Also, describe a time when you were part of a team that
didn't work well. Describe your role in each team. (500 words)
B.
Reflect on a time when your efforts resulted in a change within an
organization. Please discuss your role in these changes. (500 words)
C.
Describe a situation where you were able to use your leadership skills to
create a better outcome. (500 words)
D.
Discuss a risk you took that proved to be successful. Also describe a time
when a risk you took was not successful. (500 words)
3.
(Optional) Please include any other information that you believe would be
helpful to the Admissions Committee in considering your application. (250
word maximum)

Applicants with a plan for their future and with a good grasp
of what is expected of them as MBA students are the most successful students
in our program. We know plans change, and we know people often pursue an MBA
to create new career options. Please tell us about your plans. Ideally, your
essay should answer all the following questions: Why are you pursuing an MBA
degree? What do you expect to do immediately after completing the MBA
program? What is your primary lifetime career goal? How do your life and
work experiences to date move you closer to these personal objectives? What
specific things will the MBA experience contribute to your post-MBA and
lifetime career goals? What unique aspects of the
University of
Washington MBA Program, if any, would contribute the most to achieving your
goals? (750 words maximum)

We consider a high level of involvement in student organizations,
networking and career efforts to be a hallmark of the University of
Washington MBA experience. Please describe your anticipated level of
involvement as an MBA student over and above the MBA course requirements.
Where do you expect to make the greatest contribution to the overall MBA
experience at the University of Washington? What aspects of your past or
current life provide insights into your ability and willingness to
consistently deliver more than the minimum effort required? (500 words
maximum)

Describe a situation in a work environment that either severely
strained your relationship with co-workers or challenged your personal
values. How did you resolve the situation?

At this point in your career what do you consider your most
significant professional accomplishments? How have these particular
accomplishments affected the career choices you have made?

(Optional) Please include any other information that you believe
would be helpful to the admissions committee in considering your
application. For example, applicants have used this essay to explain a
stretch of weak grades in college, an unusual job change, travel or time off
not explained in the resume, or some particularly interesting or unique
characteristic or experience that they were unable to discuss elsewhere in
