The maximum length for each
essay is two (2) sheets, double-spaced, using only one side of the paper.
1.
Explain how
obtaining an MBA at the McCombs School of Business will assist you in
achieving your personal and/or professional life goals. Why is now the best
time for you to pursue this degree? Your explanation should include, but is
not necessarily limited to, a description of both your intermediate and
long-term career goals, as well as a current vision of your desired
employment upon graduation.
2.
All students
bring a unique personal background to the classroom and study team that can
prove to be as enlightening to fellow classmates as their professional
skills. Describe what, outside of work, most distinguishes you as an
individual and will most enrich the experience of your peers at McCombs from
your background, life experiences, values, or interests.
3.
(Optional) Is there anything that is missing from this application that you would
like the admissions committee to know about you? Is there an unusual
experience, circumstance, or achievement that has not been addressed or that
does not appear on your resume? This is also your opportunity to comment on
anything that you feel needs particular qualification such as: unexplained
gaps in your work history, sudden changes in schools or in employment,
performance in undergraduate courses, etc.
The maximum

of the paper. When printing, the font size should be no smaller than 12 pt.

intermediate and long-term career goals, as well as a current vision of your

At the McCombs School of Business, student collaboration and
community are essential to the MBA experience. Please research opportunities
for student involvement outside of the classroom at McCombs. Discuss one
opportunity in which you would like to participate, explain why it interests
you, and include how you will add value to that organization/event. If there
is no current organization/event that appeals to you, create one of your own
and discuss both why it is needed and how you would like to be involved in
its implementation.
3.

lives. Describe such a moment and its impact on you and on your view of the
world.

What makes you unique? How will your uniqueness add to the
classroom experience at McCombs?
4.
Consider yourself a member of the McCombs Admissions Committee.
Evaluate your application from all aspects including quantitative and
qualitative measures. This would also be the place to discuss any strengths
or weaknesses that you feel need careful explanation.
